Weather along the shores of the Mar Menor is very mild, making it an ideal destination for holiday makers in both the summer and winter months. The Mar Menor and its surrounding areas are sheltered by hills and high mountains allowing for a kind of micro climate. This limits rainfall, and as a result the region enjoys sunshine for in excess of 320 days per year.
